Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Location: Florence, South Carolina
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Maintain a professional image and provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
• Assess patient needs based on history, observation, physical examination, and diagnostic data.
• Delegate, supervise, and evaluate team members while managing urgent or emergent situations.
• Provide nursing interventions consistent with the Plan of Care and physician’s medical plans.
• Complete verification of Safe Surgery checklist following service excellence standards.
• Accurately and timely document all care information.
• Use appropriate health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff.
• Prepare the operating room and position patients for procedures.
• Serve as a communication liaison between family and the operating team.
• Participate in professional growth through goal setting and educational opportunities.
• Assist in supply and equipment control and maintenance.
• Perform circulating duties efficiently and promptly.
• Participate in assigned call as scheduled.
• Utilize computer programs relevant to patient care delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room (OR) RN experience, with recent OR experience within the last year
• Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)

Experience

• Years of specialty experience not explicitly stated; standard RN operating room experience expected.
• No prior travel experience required.
