Description

Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: Florence, South Carolina
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (8 weeks)
Shift: 07:00 AM – 07:30 PM


Job Description

  • Provide direct patient care and respiratory therapy procedures throughout the facility.
  • Perform procedures according to established policies and organize workload to ensure timely therapy completion.
  • Participate in respiratory care educational activities and departmental meetings.
  • Document and maintain patient records, charts, and reports accurately and promptly.
  • Respond to Code Blue and Rapid Response alerts in a timely manner.
  • Use clinical judgment and assessment skills to monitor patient care and communicate with other caregivers.
  • Evaluate patient care and make recommendations as needed.
  • Special procedures for those specially trained include Pulmonary Functions, Methacholine Challenges, Hyperbaric Medicine, NICU care, PICU care, and Asthma Education.
  • Maintain a professional image and excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license in South Carolina
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) certification

Additional Information

  • Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
  • Special training in hyperbaric medicine and pediatric/neonatal respiratory care is a plus but not mandatory.
  • This is a long-term assignment expected to last approximately 8 weeks.
