Physical Therapist (PT) - Inpatient

Location: Cheraw, South Carolina
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Description

• Maintain a professional image and provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
• Collaborate with staff to develop professional skills, new programs, and patient treatment plans.
• Perform treatments as ordered in a safe and timely manner, involving staff and family members when appropriate.
• Document medical records in accordance with APTA standards of care.
• Participate in meetings, educational sessions, and departmental services.
• Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in caseload.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
• Evaluate patients referred for physical therapy using specialized testing and data from medical records, assessing strength, range of motion, coordination, sensation, ambulation, transfers, bed mobility, and rehabilitation potential.
• Develop individualized physical therapy plans of care with short- and long-term goals.
• Supervise treatment team operations and regularly meet with Physical Therapist Assistants to discuss patient progress and goals.
• Provide evidence-based care and seek out research to support interventions.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all facility and corporate policies.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in South Carolina
• Minimum of 1 year of Physical Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Valid Driver’s License
