Description
Job Opportunity: Central Sterile Technician
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Facility: Brigham & Women's Hospital
Hospital System: Mass General Brigham
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: Monday to Friday with rotating weekends
Key Requirements and Credentials
Professional Credentials
- Resume: Must include past 7 years of work experience with city and state for all positions and education. (Required for submission)
- References: Two recent references required, with at least one supervisor or above in the relevant skillset. (Required for submission)
- Skills Checklist: Must be completed and submitted. (Required for submission)
- Education Verification: Highest level of education must be verified through background check.
- Criminal Background Check: Must be completed within 45 days prior to start and updated if there is a break longer than 6 months. Includes county and international searches if applicable.
- Massachusetts CORI Check: Criminal history check for MA going back to age 17, run within 30 days prior to start and updated if >6 month break.
- SSN Trace: Must be run with criminal check, listing addresses/aliases for past 7 years.
- National Sex Offender Check: Run within 30 days of start and updated annually.
- Exclusion Checks: Includes OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid exclusion lists, run within 30 days of start and annually.
Licenses and Certifications
- License/Certificate Verification: Primary source verification required within 30 days of start and updated upon expiration.
- CRCST Certification: Required for Sterile Processing Technicians. CBSPD or HSPA certifications are also accepted.
- MGB Badge Photo: Recent color photo (within 6 months), plain background, no eyeglasses, symmetrical headshot.
Health and Immunization Requirements
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): Documentation of two doses of each vaccine or two MMR vaccines, or proof of immunity via blood test.
- TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot blood test within 3 months of start, updated if >6 month break.
- Health Statement: Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start, updated if >6 month break.
- Respirator Medical Clearance (if applicable): Attestation required if fit testing is needed for the role.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30). No exemptions allowed. (Strongly preferred)
- Hepatitis B: Strongly preferred; record of 3 vaccines or proof of immunity or declination.
- Tdap: Preferred vaccine within last 10 years.
- Positive PPD - Negative Chest X-Ray: Required if TB test is positive, showing no active tuberculosis.
Additional Notes
- All required documents must be submitted prior to onboarding.
- Background and health screenings must be current and updated as specified.
- Compliance with Mass General Brigham policies and Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulations is mandatory.
