Description
MRI Technician - Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA
Hospital System: Mass General Brigham
Facility: Massachusetts General Hospital
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Every other weekend rotation: Saturday/Sunday 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM
- Evening shifts during the week: either 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM or 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM
- 36 to 40 hours per week
- Two consecutive days off each pay week (Sunday through Saturday)
- No quick turnaround shifts (shift will never end at 11:30 PM with expectation to return by 7:00 AM)
Required Credentials & Compliance
Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required before onboarding. Acceptable certifications include AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military. Preference for AHA at some affiliated hospitals.
- ARRT Certification: Required before onboarding.
- Professional License Verification: Primary source verification required within 30 days of start date and updated upon expiration. MA Conditional Licenses not accepted.
Health & Immunizations
- Fit Test (N95 Respirator): Required within 365 days of start date and updated annually. Must be completed prior to start; no religious exemptions.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): Documentation of vaccination or proof of immunity required before onboarding.
- TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative blood test within 3 months of start date, updated if break >6 months.
- Health Statement: Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if break >6 months.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30). No exemptions allowed.
- Hepatitis B: Strongly preferred but optional.
- Tdap Vaccine: Preferred, updated within 10 years.
- Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation: Required if fit test is required.
Background & Professional Checks
- Criminal Background Check: Within 45 days prior to start and updated if break >6 months. Includes international searches if applicable.
- Massachusetts CORI Check: Within 30 days prior to start and updated if break >6 months.
- National Sex Offender Check: Within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
- Exclusion Checks: Within 30 days prior to start and annually. Includes OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid exclusion lists.
- SSN Trace: Must be run with criminal check covering last 7 years.
- Education Verification: Verified through background check company for highest level of education.
- References: Two recent references required, at least one supervisor or above in the skillset.

Additional Notes
- Positive TB test requires documentation of a negative chest x-ray after the positive test.
- MGB Confirmation of Assignment/POI form required for all initial assignments and extensions.
