Description
MRI Technician - Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform MRI imaging safely and efficiently following established guidelines and protocols.
- Required knowledge of:
- Cross-sectional anatomy
- Spine anatomy
- Neuro-vascular anatomy
- Head and neck anatomy, including common diseases and processes.
- Work independently and collaboratively with Radiologists, Lead Imaging Specialist, Associate Director Radiology, and fellow technologists.
- Ensure exam efficiency and effectiveness while providing patient comfort and safety.
- Aim to achieve the highest diagnostic imaging quality possible.
- Schedule includes:
- Friday: 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM
- Saturday & Sunday: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Required Credentials and Compliance
Certifications & Licenses
- BLS Certification (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military accepted; AHA preferred)
- Professional License Verification
- Primary source verification required within 30 days of start date and updated upon expiration.
- MA Conditional Licenses not accepted.
Personal Health Requirements
- N95 Fit Test
- Must be completed within 365 days prior to start and updated annually.
- No religious exemptions.
- MMR Vaccination or Proof of Immunity
- Two doses each of measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines or two MMR vaccines.
- Blood test proof accepted if immune.
- Influenza Vaccine (required during flu season, Sept 15 – April 30)
- TB Test
- Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot blood test within 3 months of start date.
- Updated if break >6 months.
- Health Statement
- Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date.
- Tdap Vaccine (preferred, within 10 years)
- Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation (if fit test required)
Professional Requirements
- Criminal Background Check (within 45 days prior to start and updated if >6 month break)
- Massachusetts CORI Background Check (within 30 days prior to start and updated if >6 month break)
- Resume
- Past 7 years of work experience with city and state included.
- References
- Two recent references, at least one supervisor or above in skillset.
- Skills Checklist
- Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form (for initial assignments and extensions)
- Education Verification (highest level verified through background check)
- SSN Trace (addresses/aliases for past 7 years)
- National Sex Offender Check (within 30 days of start and updated annually)
- Exclusion Checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid; within 30 days of start and annually)
Optional but Preferred
- Hepatitis B Vaccination or Immunity Proof
- Positive PPD - Negative Chest X-Ray (if applicable)
- TB Symptom Survey (if positive PPD)
