Job Description

• Position: Labor and Delivery OR Certified Surgical Technician
• Start Date: ASAP (from 1/20)
• Shift: 3x12 hour rotating shifts
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Preferred Experience: High risk obstetric experience preferred
• Certification Required: NBSTSA or NCCT Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Required Credentials & Compliance

• Certification: CST certification (NBSTSA or NCCT only) mandatory
• Licenses: Professional license/certification verification required (MA Conditional Licenses not accepted)
• Photo ID: Recent (within 6 months) professional badge photo required (no selfies, plain background, no eyeglasses)
• Health Requirements:

  • N95 Fit Test within 365 days of start date, updated annually
  • Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity proof
  • Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30) with no exemptions
  • TB test (skin or blood test) within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break
  • Physician Health Statement within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity strongly preferred
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
• Background Checks:

  • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
  • Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
  • Social Security Number trace for past 7 years
  • National Sex Offender Registry check within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Additional Documentation:

  • Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city & state
  • Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above) in the skillset
  • Skills checklist required for submission
  • Candidate submission coversheet required for submission
  • Confirmation of assignment/POI form required upon acceptance and for extensions

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technician
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Summary

This is a long-term assignment (approximately 13 weeks) for a Certified Surgical Technician with at least 2 years of experience, preferably with high risk obstetric experience. Certification through NBSTSA or NCCT is mandatory. The role requires compliance with extensive credentialing, health, and background check requirements prior to onboarding. The position involves rotating 12-hour shifts in a labor and delivery or surgical setting.
