Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist (Inpatient)

Location: East Sandwich, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Provide occupational therapy services to patients of all ages, helping them participate in important activities and occupations. Work primarily with individuals facing physical, cognitive, developmental, or emotional challenges that impact their ability to perform everyday tasks.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of patients' physical, mental, and developmental abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessments.
  • Monitor and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Educate patients and families on therapeutic activities and home exercises.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and progress notes.
  • Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and professional development activities.

Required Specialty Experience

  • Occupational Therapist with experience in inpatient settings.

Certifications and Licenses Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Required prior to onboarding. Acceptable certifications include AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military.
  • Professional License: Must have valid professional license with primary source verification completed within 30 days of start. MA Conditional Licenses are not accepted.
  • MGB Nurse Aide Registry Check: Required within 30 days of start (per MA Department of Public Health).
  • Fit Test (N95 Respirator): Required within 365 days of start and updated annually.
  • MMR Vaccination or Immunity Proof: Documentation required.
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30) with no exemptions.
  • TB Test: Documentation of negative TB skin test or blood test within 3 months of start, updated if >6 month break.
  • Health Statement: Physician-signed statement within 365 days of start, updated if >6 month break.
  • Criminal Background Check: Within 45 days prior to start, including county and international searches if applicable.
  • Massachusetts CORI Check: Within 30 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break.
  • National Sex Offender Check: Within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.
  • Exclusion Checks: Within 30 days prior to start and annually (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid).
  • Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation: Required if fit test is required.

Required Documentation for Submission

  • Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state details.
  • Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above) in the relevant skillset.
  • Skills checklist specific to the role.
  • Candidate submission coversheet.
