Description
NICU Respiratory Therapist
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Unit: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Job Description
- Provide respiratory therapy care in the NICU during night shifts.
- Must hold Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent respiratory therapist experience.
Onboarding and Credentialing Requirements
- Submit a recent (within 6 months) professional color photo (no selfies, plain background).
- Professional license and certification primary source verification within 30 days of start date; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted.
- Fit Test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually; no exemptions allowed.
- Respirator Medical Clearance attestation required as part of fit test documentation.
- Immunization and health documentation including:
- MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccination or proof of immunity.
- TB test (skin or blood test) within 3 months of start date, updated if break >6 months.
- Physician health statement within 365 days of start date, updated if break >6 months.
- Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start, including Massachusetts CORI and national sex offender registry checks, updated if break >6 months.
- Social Security Number trace and exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, Medicaid) within 30 days of start and annually.
- Education verification of highest degree achieved.
- Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher.
- Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission.
- Candidate submission coversheet and confirmation of assignment form required.
Preferred but Optional
- Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity.
- Tdap vaccination within 10 years.
- Documentation of chest x-ray if positive TB test.
- Name change documentation if applicable.
Additional Notes
- All work experience and education must include city and state for submission.
- Background checks include international residence or travel exceeding 30 consecutive days within the last 7 years.
- Fit testing cannot be performed onsite; must be completed prior to start.
- No religious or medical exemptions allowed for fit testing.
This position is ideal for experienced Registered Respiratory Therapists seeking a 13-week night shift assignment in a NICU setting.
