Job Opportunity: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - Travel Position

Location: Grand Haven, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shift: 8:30 PM – 7:00 AM (35 hours/week, 70 hours biweekly)
Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off, Wednesday to Tuesday rotation

Job Description

• Work schedule includes night shifts with a 7 on/7 off rotation.
• Experience with Meditech system preferred.
• Memorial Day weekend falls within this rotation.

Required Qualifications

Licensure & Certification

• Valid Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) license required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Specialty exam must be completed within the last year.

Experience

• Minimum years of experience in the Medical Laboratory Technician specialty: Not explicitly stated (assume standard MLT experience required).
• No explicit requirement for prior travel experience.

Immunizations & Health Requirements

• COVID-19 vaccine (including booster by Sept 2025) or approved exemption/declination (declination not accepted for CA or IL).
• MMR vaccination proof required.
• Fit test required (specific to Iowa mask policy).
• Hepatitis B vaccination series required (titers not accepted).
• Influenza vaccine required for 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 seasons or approved exemption/declination (declination not accepted for CA or IL).
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) required; positive TB requires chest x-ray within last year for Michigan.
• Varicella vaccination proof required.
• Tdap vaccine required; declinations accepted if no pediatric interaction.
• Physical/Health statement confirming fitness to work within the last year.
• Color vision test required.

Drug Screening & Background Checks

• 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (NO THC).
• Federal, nationwide, and county criminal background checks from last 7 years.
• Social Security Number verification.
• Exclusion screenings including EPLS, OIG/GSA, NSO.
• Integrity and audit services form signed prior to start.

Documentation & Compliance

• Resume and skills checklist within the last year.
• Two professional references.
• Confidentiality, conflict of interest, code of conduct, and system access forms required.
• Education verification (highest level of academic education).
• Specialty-specific competency testing within the last year.
• Respirator evaluation with physician signature (for certain locations).
• Standard I-9 completed by agency.

Additional Notes

• All required documentation and certifications must be uploaded into the vendor management system prior to onboarding.
• Candidate must be fit to work and meet all health and safety requirements.
• This is a travel assignment with a defined contract length of approximately 12 weeks.
