Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry I

Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: Day shift; may include up to 3 Saturdays per 6-week schedule period. Sundays off. Holidays assigned based on surgical volumes.

Job Description

• Provide nursing care for telemetry patients.
• Work primarily day shifts with some weekend and holiday coverage as needed.

Required Qualifications

Licensure & Certifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Iowa.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year.

Experience

• Specialty: RN Telemetry I.
• Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume entry to intermediate level for Telemetry nursing.

Health & Compliance

• Fit test.
• 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC).
• COVID-19 vaccination proof or approved exemption.
• MMR vaccination or immunity proof.
• Hepatitis B vaccination series initiated prior to start.
• Influenza vaccination or approved exemption.
• 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) test with chest x-ray if positive.

Background & Professional Requirements

• Federal, nationwide, and county criminal background check covering the last 7 years.

• Completion of various professional forms including code of conduct, confidentiality agreements, conflict of interest disclosure, and system access forms.
• Compliance with child and adult dependent abuse training (Iowa only).
• Criminal history, sex offender, and abuse registry checks (Iowa only).
• Exclusion screenings (OIG, EPLS, OFAC).
• Joint Commission CORE exam within the last year.
• Skills checklist provided by the agency for clinical contractors.
