Job Description
Seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units. This role involves providing direct patient care in a hospital setting with a focus on medical-surgical nursing and telemetry monitoring.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
Candidates must provide the following documentation and meet these health and professional standards prior to start:
- Recent license verification (within 30 days of start).
- Fit test for respiratory protection.
- Drug screening (10-panel) completed within 30 days of start, with negative results.
- Proof of immunizations and vaccinations including:
- COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption/declination.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or immunity proof.
- Hepatitis B vaccination series initiated prior to start.
- Influenza vaccine or approved exemption/declination (current season).
- Varicella vaccination or immunity proof.
- Tdap vaccination or approved declination if no pediatric interaction.
- Tuberculosis screening (2-step PPD or IGRA test).
- Physical/health statement confirming fitness to work within the last year.
- Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year.
- Skills checklist provided by the agency for clinical contractors.
Professional and Background Checks
- Federal, nationwide, and county criminal background checks covering the last 7 years.
- Social Security Number verification.
- Education verification including highest academic degree or diploma.
- Exclusion and sanction screenings (OIG, EPLS, OFAC).
- Child and adult dependent abuse registry checks (Iowa-specific).
- Completion of confidentiality, code of conduct, conflict of interest, and patient information security agreements.
- Completion of standard employment eligibility verification (I-9).
- System access forms and other required agency documentation completed prior to start.
Additional Information
- This is a direct patient care role requiring adherence to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
- The assignment follows an every-other-week (EOW) schedule.
