Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical Telemetry
Location: Hartford, Connecticut
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Night Shift)
Hours: 36 hours per week
Setting: Inpatient Hold with preference for ability to take Emergency Department (ED) patients
Job Description
- Provide nursing care on Medical/Surgical Telemetry units with inpatient hold patient ratios and acuity.
- Preference for candidates who can also manage ED patients.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Connecticut
- Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience of at least 1 year, with experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Health and Safety Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccine proof (including booster by Sept 2025) or approved exemption/declination (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
- Influenza vaccine proof or approved exemption/declination (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series must be initiated prior to start.
- MMR vaccination proof (2 doses or immunity titer).
- Varicella vaccination proof (1 dose or immunity titer).
- Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA test required; positive TB requires chest x-ray within last year.
- Tdap vaccine (declination accepted if no pediatric interaction).
- Physical exam within the last year confirming fitness to work.
- Respirator fit test.
- 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC).
Professional and Compliance Requirements
- Completion of specialty-specific competency testing within the last year.
- Skills checklist provided by agency for clinical contractors.
- Signed Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Conflict of Interest Disclosure, Integrity and Audit Services Form.
- Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county for last 7 years) with SSN verification, dated within 30 days of start.
- Education verification of highest academic degree or diploma.
- Exclusion screenings including EPLS, OIG, NSO, and OFAC within 30 days of start.
- System access form completed and uploaded one week before start.
- Joint Commission CORE exam within the last year.
Additional Notes
- All certifications and licenses must be uploaded with clear images of front and back where applicable.
- Verification documents must be machine-generated or official scans with dates.
- Agency will provide necessary checklists and forms as part of onboarding.
This position is ideal for experienced Medical/Surgical Telemetry RNs comfortable with inpatient hold patients and night shifts, with a preference for those able to assist in the Emergency Department.
