Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical Telemetry
Location: Hartford, Connecticut
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Hours: 36 hours per week, every other week rotation
Setting: Inpatient Hold unit with preference for ability to take Emergency Department patients
Job Description
- Provide nursing care on a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit with inpatient hold ratios and acuity.
- Ability to manage telemetry patients; preference given to those who can also care for ED patients.
Required Qualifications
Licensure & Certifications
- Valid RN license in Connecticut.
- BLS issued by American Heart Association.
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association.
- PALS or ENPC certification.
- TNCC certification.
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of Medical/Surgical Telemetry experience within the last year.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Fit test for respirator use.
- COVID-19 vaccination proof including booster by September 2025, or approved declination/exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
- Influenza vaccine proof or approved declination/exemption for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 flu seasons (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series must be initiated prior to start.
- MMR and Varicella vaccination proof or immunity documentation.
- 2-step PPD or IGRA TB test; if positive, chest x-ray required within last year.
- Physical/health statement confirming fitness to work within the last year.
- 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (NO THC).
Professional & Compliance Requirements
- Completion of background checks including federal, nationwide, and county criminal checks from the last 7 years.
- Social Security Number verification.
- Education verification of highest academic degree or diploma.
- Verification against exclusion lists (OIG, EPLS, NSO, OFAC) within 30 days of start.
- Signed confidentiality, code of conduct, conflict of interest, and patient information security agreements.
- Completion of system access forms and other onboarding documentation prior to start.
Additional Notes
- License and certification verifications must be dated within 30 days of assignment start.
- All required documents and certifications must be uploaded to the credentialing system before onboarding.
- Agency will provide necessary checklists and assist with competency testing.
This position is ideal for RNs with Medical/Surgical Telemetry experience seeking a long-term assignment with a consistent day shift schedule and involvement in inpatient hold and emergency care settings.
