Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Waterloo, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Shift: 09:00 AM – 06:30 PM
  • Weekend rotation: Every 4th to 5th weekend
  • FTE: 0.9 to 1.0 (36 to 40 hours per week)
  • Holiday: Call rotation
  • On-call: Weeknight call approximately every 1-2 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Iowa
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification

Immunization and Health Requirements

  • COVID-19 vaccine with booster proof (or approved declination/exemption; declination not accepted in CA or IL)
  • MMR: Proof of 2 vaccinations or IgG titer lab report
  • Hepatitis B: Must have started vaccination series prior to start (3-shot series required; titers not accepted)
  • Influenza vaccine (optional): Proof of vaccine, declination, or exemption accepted except in CA or IL
  • 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) for TB screening; positive TB requires chest x-ray per regional guidelines
  • Varicella: Proof of 1 vaccination or IgG titer lab report
  • Tdap: Current, non-expired vaccine required; declination accepted if no pediatric interaction

Experience
