Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location: Dyersville, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 06:00 AM – 06:30 PM


Job Description

  • Holiday fill for open Emergency Department nursing needs.

Required Qualifications

Licensure & Certifications

  • Valid RN license in Iowa.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year.

Education

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Fit test for respiratory protection.
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC).
  • COVID-19 vaccination proof including booster by September 2025, or approved declination/exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
  • Influenza vaccine is optional but recommended.
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for:
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) – two vaccinations or IgG titer.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series started prior to start date.
    • Varicella vaccination or IgG titer.
    • Tdap vaccine (declination accepted if no pediatric interaction).
  • Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA test required; positive TB requires chest x-ray per regional guidelines.
  • Physical exam within the last year confirming fitness to work.

Professional & Compliance Requirements

  • Completion of specialty-specific competency testing within the last year.
  • Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county) covering last 7 years, including SSN verification, dated within 30 days of start.
  • Education verification of highest academic degree or diploma/GED.
  • Verification against exclusion lists (EPLS, OIG, NSO) dated within 30 days of start.
  • Signed Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest Disclosure, Confidentiality and Security Agreement, Integrity and Audit Services Form, and Non-Employee Upload Form.
  • Completion of patient and proprietary information confidentiality and system security agreement.
  • System access form completed and uploaded one week before start.
  • Iowa-specific: Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Training and state registry checks required within 30 days prior to start.

Additional Notes

  • Resume and skills checklist (within one year) and two professional references required for submission.
  • Agency will provide clinical skills checklist.
  • All required documents and certifications must be uploaded to the credentialing system prior to onboarding.

This position offers a 13-week long-term assignment in an Emergency Department setting with day shift hours, requiring comprehensive emergency nursing certifications and compliance with extensive health and professional standards.
