Location: Waterloo, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Description
- Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW) / Every Other Holiday (EOH)
- Specialty: Critical Care Nursing
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa
- Minimum of 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Health and Safety Requirements
- Fit Test
- 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC)
- COVID-19 vaccination proof or approved exemption (booster required by Sept 2025)
- Influenza vaccine proof or approved exemption (valid for 10/1/2024 - 4/30/2025 and 10/1/2025 - 4/30/2026)
- MMR vaccination proof or immunity titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination series initiated prior to start
- Varicella vaccination proof or immunity titer
- Tdap vaccination (declination accepted if no pediatric interaction)
- 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with chest x-ray if positive TB
Professional and Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county) within last 7 years, dated within 30 days of start
- Education verification (highest academic degree or equivalent)
- Drug screen and health history documentation
- Signed confidentiality, code of conduct, conflict of interest, and patient information security agreements
- Specialty-specific competency testing within the last year
- Skills checklist provided by agency for clinical contractors
- System access form completed and uploaded one week before start
- Child and adult dependent abuse training (Iowa only)
- State-specific registry checks (Iowa) including criminal history, sex offender, and abuse registries
Additional Notes
- All certifications and licenses must be uploaded with clear images of front and back where applicable
- Documentation must be current and compliant with specified timelines
- Candidate must be fit to work as documented by a physical exam within the last year
