Job Opportunity: Surgical Technician

Location: Mason City, Iowa
Facility: MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center (Trinity Health System)
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
**Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Mostly day shifts
• Shifts vary between 8-10 hours depending on department needs
• On-call duties as assigned (minimum 10-12 call shifts per month)
• Holiday rotation participation required as part of on-call team

Required Credentials and Compliance

Certifications & Licenses

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association)
• Current license/certificate verification relevant to the position

Background & Screening

• Iowa Criminal History, Sex Offender, Dependent Adult & Child Abuse Registries check (must be done within 30 days prior to start)
• 9 Panel Drug Screen (completed within 30 days of start, no THC)
• Federal, Nationwide, County Criminal Background Check (last 7 years, within 30 days of start)
• Employment verifications covering last 7 years
• Education verification (highest level of academic education)
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 30 days
• OIG/GSA exclusion check within 30 days
• NSO (National Sex Offender) check within 30 days
• Integrity and Audit Services Form signed prior to start

Health & Safety

• Fit test (required for certain Iowa locations)
• COVID-19 vaccine proof of booster, declination, or exemption (with agency letterhead)
• MMR vaccination or immunity proof
• Hepatitis B vaccination series proof (titers not accepted)
• Influenza vaccine (optional)
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) test
• Varicella vaccination or immunity proof
• Physical/Health Statement confirming fitness to work (exam within last year)
• Trinity Specific COVID Questionnaire

Additional Requirements

• Color vision test
• All required documents and certifications must be uploaded to Trinity VMS system prior to onboarding
