Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Travel Position

Location: Little Falls, New York
Facility: Little Falls Hospital (Bassett Health Network)

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel
• Start Date: ASAP
• Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• On-Call: None
• **Contract Length: 12 weeks

Work Setting & Caseload

• Primary Facilities: Little Falls Hospital (LFH) and Cobleskill Regional Hospital (CRH)
• Coverage: 3 days/week at LFH, 2 days/week at CRH (traveling between facilities mid-day is rare)
• Setting: Critical Access Hospitals offering outpatient, acute, and subacute swing bed rehabilitation services
• Caseload: Minimum 7–8 patients per day (mostly outpatient, some inpatient)
• Patient Age Range: From at least age 3 through advanced age
• Typical Diagnoses:

  • Swallowing disorders (acute and chronic)
  • Speech and language impairments
  • Neurological conditions (e.g., strokes, Parkinsonism)
  • Developmental delays
  • Dysphagia
  • Fluency disorders
  • Diet selection/recommendations
• Responsibilities: Independently perform evaluations and treatments in the above areas

Requirements & Preferences

• Certifications: Must hold CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
• Experience:

  • Ability to work independently
  • Skilled in swallow evaluations and treatment
  • Skilled in outpatient swallow and language evaluation and treatment
• Not Required: FEES, trach/vent, and MBSS experience (these services are not offered at LFH or CRH)
