Job Description

• Must have active ARRT-R or RCIS certification (mandatory).
• Cath lab experience required.
• Responsibilities include assisting physicians (Cardiologist/Radiologist) by scrubbing procedures, monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data during cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Prepare procedure rooms and monitor instrument/supply levels.
• Participate in staff meetings, performance improvement, and training new staff.
• Assist in invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.

Qualifications

• Certification:

  • ARRT-R and state license, or
  • Certified Cardiovascular Technologist (CCT), or
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) required.
• Previous cardiovascular lab experience preferred.
• Training in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring preferred.
• BCLS (AHA) certification required upon hire and must be maintained.
• ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Proficient computer skills.
• On-call availability required (with elevated on-call rate).

Required Credentials and Compliance

• Professional license/certification verification (primary source).
• Valid Driver’s License or State ID.
• Drug screening (minimum 10-panel test) within 60 days of start.
• Color-blind test (annual).
• Agency attestation and background checks (including criminal background check within one year).
• COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses plus booster or declination).
• MMR vaccination or immunity proof.
• Annual respirator fit test (must be completed prior to start for Illinois).
• Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity (declinations not accepted at some locations).
• Influenza vaccine or declination (required October 1 - May 31).
• TB test and annual TB questionnaire.
• Varicella vaccination or immunity proof.
• Tdap vaccination (declinations not accepted at some locations).
• Physical/health statement (annual).
• Social Security Card or Passport for verification.
• Prime Core Competencies Exam (minimum 80% score).
• Badge photo (clear headshot).
• Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9).
• Job description acknowledgment.
• DCI/BVP certification (bloodborne pathogens).
• Completion of onboarding education and essentials packet.

• Primary source verification and credential updates are required regularly.
• Onboarding requires submission of all required documents and compliance with facility-specific policies.
• Name discrepancy affidavits may be required if credentials differ.
• On-call duties are mandatory.
