Job Description

• Position: Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ED)
• Role: Traveler nurse with 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe patient care using nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Provide direct patient care within scope of practice
  • Guide patient/family teaching and supervise other nursing personnel
  • Maintain professional nursing care standards in Telemetry
  • Be accountable for patient care in the Emergency Department
  • Communicate changes in patient condition and diagnostic results to physicians
  • Respond quickly and accurately to patient condition changes or treatment responses
  • Knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and mandatory reporting of abuse
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality

Required Credentials & Certifications

• Licenses:

  • Valid RN license verified via Nursys
  • Driver’s License or State ID or Passport
  • Social Security Card (or Passport in lieu)

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • DCI/BVP (Workplace Violence Prevention Certification)

• Testing & Exams:

  • Prime Basic Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%)
  • Prime Basic Rhythm Interpretation Screening (minimum 80%)
  • Prime Specialty Exam (minimum 80%)
  • Prime Core Competencies Exam (minimum 80%)

• Health & Immunizations:

  • COVID-19 Vaccine (2 doses + booster or declination)
  • MMR (Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (vaccination or immunity)
  • Influenza Vaccine (required seasonally, no declinations at some locations)
  • Varicella (vaccination or immunity)
  • Tdap (required, no declinations at some locations)
  • TB Test and Annual TB Questionnaire
  • Fit Test (annual respirator fit test, must be completed prior to start)

• Background & Compliance:

  • National Criminal Background Check (within 1 year)
  • Prime Drug Screening (minimum 10-panel test including THC)
  • Prime SAM/EPLS (Excluded Individual Search)
  • Prime OIG (Office of Inspector General check)
  • Prime Agency Attestation
  • Prime Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification)
  • Prime Job Description acknowledgment
  • Prime Badge Photo (clear headshot)

Additional Requirements

• Annual completion of Prime Color-blind test
• Physical/Health Statement (annual, must state clear to work)
• Onboarding Education Attestation (education modules completed prior to start)
• Essentials Onboarding Packet completion

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room RNs who meet the above credentialing and compliance requirements and are interested in a long-term travel assignment in Illinois.
