Job Description

Position available at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, KS. This is a travel assignment for an MRI Technician.

Required Credentials & Compliance

Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support): Must be American Heart Association (AHA) certified.
• Current License: Must have a valid license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
• Driver’s License/State ID: Must be current and match address on file; specific rules apply if working outside home state.

Onboarding & Training

• Ascension Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within one year of start and updated yearly (minimum 80% score, max 2 attempts).
• Ascension Medical Imaging Contract Worker Onboarding: Includes a 6-hour pre-hire education with attestation required.
• Ascension Badge Photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations.

Health & Immunizations

• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
• Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred before start but can be completed onsite. Annual updates required.
• Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
• Influenza Vaccine: Recommended during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
• TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire.
• Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted.
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
• Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
• 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually; includes testing for 12 specified substances.

Professional Requirements

• Ascension Profile: Resume or professional profile required.
• Professional References: At least two qualifying references prior to first assignment.
• Criminal Background Check: Includes Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender check; updated annually or after breaks in service >90 days.
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) Check: Within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service >90 days.
• Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually.
• Education Verification: Verification of relevant education within 90 days of start; official transcripts required if verification fails.
• Employment Verification: Third-party verification for past 7 years; updated annually or after breaks in service >90 days.
• Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updates with extensions.

Additional Notes

• Some documents and forms are completed onsite by the facility.
• Flu vaccine exemptions require mask wearing during flu season.
• All credentials and verifications must be current and compliant with Ascension Health policies.
