Job Opportunity: RN OR (Registered Nurse - Operating Room)
Location: Florence, South Carolina
Facility: McLeod Regional Medical Center

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Maintain a professional image and excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
- Assess patient needs based on history, observation, physical exams, and diagnostic data.
- Delegate, supervise, and evaluate team members while managing urgent or emergent situations.
- Provide nursing interventions consistent with the Plan of Care and physician’s medical plans.
- Complete Safe Surgery checklist verification using service excellence standards.
- Accurately and timely document all care information.
- Use appropriate health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff; perform duties inside or outside the sterile field as assigned.
- Prepare the operating room for procedures.
- Position and prepare patients on the operating table.
- Serve as communication liaison between family and operating team.
- Contribute to efficient daily department performance.
- Participate in assigned call schedules.
- Demonstrate professional growth through goal setting and educational participation.
- Assist in control and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
- Perform all circulating duties efficiently and promptly.
- Utilize computer programs relevant to patient care delivery.
Required Credentials and Certifications
Licenses:
- Valid Nursing License (Nursys verification within 30 days of start)
- License/Certificate Verification (Primary source verification, state-specific registry)
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID
- Social Security Card
Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association only)
- ACLS (American Heart Association only)
Health Requirements:
- MMR: Proof of 2 immunizations or titer with lab printout (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Proof of 3 vaccinations or titer with lab printout (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: Proof of 2 immunizations or titer with lab printout (no declinations accepted)
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): 1st within 1 year, 2nd within 30 days of start; negative Q-Gold or Tspot within 90 days prior to start also accepted
- Drug Screen: 10 panel drug screening completed within 30 days of start (rapid drug screen not accepted)
Background and Verification:
- Criminal Background Check (county, statewide, national, OIG, EPLS, OFAC, NSOP, SS Trace, education verification) done within 60 days of start covering last 7 years, updated annually
- Employment Verification for last 5 years
Other:
- McLeod Profile (resume or profile submission required)
- McLeod Skills Checklist (clinical skills checklist completed prior to start and updated annually)
- Confirmation of Assignment (standard form required)
Optional / Seasonal Requirements
- Fit Test (required for travelers, make/model, completed within 1 year of start)
- Influenza Vaccine (required September - April; medical/religious exemptions considered with documentation)
- Annual Negative PPD (if 2 step PPD not done within past year)
- Annual TB Questionnaire
- Positive PPD with Negative Chest X-Ray (X-ray within 90 days of start)
