Job Opportunity: RN Medical / Surgical / Telemetry
Location: Sioux City, Iowa
Facility: MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center
Hospital System: Trinity Health
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW), Every Other Hour (EOH)
Position Overview
Registered Nurse (RN) needed for Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units. This role involves providing direct patient care in a hospital setting.
Required Credentials and Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association certification required for all direct patient care personnel.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Required for RNs in critical care areas.
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
- License/Certificate Verification – Must be current and verified within 30 days of start.
- Trinity Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Training (Iowa only).
- Trinity 9 Panel Drug Screen – Completed within 30 days of start (no THC).
- Fit Test – Required personal health screening.
- Physical/Health Statement – Documentation from an exam within the last year confirming fitness to work.
- Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing – Specialty exam completed within the last year.
- Trinity Skills Checklist – Provided by agency for clinical contractors.
- Trinity Joint Commission Testing (CORE Exam) – Within the last year.

- Trinity Education Verification – Highest level of academic education verified.
- Trinity EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) Check
- Trinity GSA/OIG Exclusion Check
- Trinity NSO (National Sex Offender) Check
- Trinity System Access Form – Must be completed and uploaded one week before start.
Required Personal Health History and Immunizations
- COVID-19 Vaccine – Proof of vaccine, booster, declination, or exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – Proof of two vaccinations or immunity titer.
- Hepatitis B – Proof of vaccination series required (titers not accepted).
- Influenza Vaccine – Optional but recommended for the flu season (Oct 1, 2024 – Apr 30, 2025).
- 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) – Tuberculosis screening.
- Varicella (Chickenpox) – Proof of vaccination or immunity titer.
- Trinity Color Vision Test
Additional Notes
- Iowa-specific requirements include criminal history and abuse registry checks within 30 days prior to start.
- All documentation must be current, scanned, and uploaded to the Trinity VMS system as required.
- Drug screening excludes THC.
- Specialty competency and skills checklists are mandatory for clinical contractors.
- Compliance with Trinity Health policies and forms is required for onboarding.
This position is ideal for RNs with current certifications and licenses who are ready for a long-term assignment in a reputable hospital system.
