Job Opportunity: MRI Technician

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Facility: Salem Hospital (Mass General Brigham system)
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA) – 13 months
Shift: 36 hours per week, overnight shifts, rotating coverage between two sites (Salem Hospital and Peabody Imaging outpatient site)
Unit: Radiology – MRI Tech

Job Description

• Provide MRI services at two sites with rotating coverage.
• Must be able to float between locations.
• Rotating shifts and holiday coverage required.
• Bed count at Salem Hospital: 371.
• Charting system used: EPIC.

Experience & Skills Required

• Minimum 2 years of MRI technician experience.
• Experience with Siemens MRI scanners.
• Phlebotomy skills required.
• Proficiency in Outlook and strong interpersonal skills.

Certifications & Licenses Required

• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required; ARMRIT accepted as alternative.
• CPR certification required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required before onboarding (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military accepted; AHA preferred).
• Valid professional license with primary source verification required (MA Conditional Licenses not accepted).

Health & Safety Requirements

• Fit Test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually.
• Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity required.
• TB test documentation within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if there is a break >6 months.
• Health statement signed by a licensed provider within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break.
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30). No exemptions allowed.
• Hepatitis B vaccination strongly preferred (or proof of immunity or declination).
• Tdap vaccine preferred (within 10 years).

Background & Professional Checks

• Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break.
• Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break.
• National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.
• Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start and annually.
• Social Security Number trace as part of background check.
• Education verification of highest degree or certification required.

• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
• Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above in relevant skillset).
• Skills checklist specific to the position.

Additional Notes

• Must be willing to work rotating shifts and holidays.
• Floating between two sites is mandatory.
