Travel RN Oncology Position
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Facility: OKTUL St John Medical Center
Hospital System: Ascension Health
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition appropriately.
- Coordinate care among all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Follow physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with healthcare team members.
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
- Use personal protective equipment following Standard Precautions.
Required Certifications and Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - Must be American Heart Association (AHA) certified.
- Nursys Verification - Within 30 days prior to start; complete FACIS Questionnaire if any disciplinary actions.
- Current Nursing License - Primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Ascension Pharmacology Exam - Pass with minimum 80%, updated every 3 years.
- Ascension Specialty Exam - Pass with minimum 80%, updated every 3 years.
- Ascension Core Competencies - Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year and updated yearly.
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out - Required for electronic health record competency.
- Ascension Skills Checklist - Clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually.
Health and Immunization Requirements
- MMR - Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
- Hepatitis B - Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Varicella - Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted.
- Tdap - Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- Influenza Vaccine - Recommended during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); declinations accepted with mask requirement.
- TB Testing - Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within a year, and annual TB questionnaire. Two-step PPD or IGRA required.
- Fit Test - Required annually for respirator use.
- Health Statement - Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen - Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.

- Ascension EPLS Check (Exclusion list screening)
- Ascension Education Verification (Verification of clinical education within 90 days of start)
- Ascension Employment Verification (Third-party verification for past 7 years)
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment (Agency letterhead documentation of assignment dates)
- Professional References - At least two professional references required prior to first assignment.
Notes
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment with minimal supervision.
- Compliance with all Ascension Health policies and procedures is mandatory.
- Some optional checklists and evaluations may be required post-assignment or during onboarding.
