Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (OB Unit)

Location: Machias, Maine
Facility: Down East Community Hospital
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)

Job Description

• Provide holistic, individualized nursing care on the OB unit using the nursing process.
• Demonstrate clinical competency, nursing judgment, and teaching skills.
• Perform general and unit-specific clinical skills independently.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care under charge nurse supervision.
• Care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, nursery, and post-op gynecology patients.
• Manage supplies and equipment and promote teamwork with physicians and hospital staff.
• Adhere to hospital policies on confidentiality, sexual harassment, advance directives, and ADA.
• Support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Requirements

• Minimum one year of acute care RN experience.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Completion of general nursing and unit orientation.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Computer proficiency.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, Neonatal Resuscitation, STABLE.
• Must be vaccinated for COVID-19 per state mandate.
