Job Opportunity: RN Cath Lab (Travel)

Job Summary
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition appropriately.
- Coordinate all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Follow physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with healthcare team members.
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (AHA certified)
- ACLS (AHA certified)
- Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- Ascension Specialty Exam (completed prior to first assignment, updated every 3 years, minimum 80% passing score)
- Ascension Color Vision Test (completed prior to start, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start, updated yearly, minimum 80% score)
- Ascension EKG Exam (new edition as of Dec 1, 2023; passing score of at least 80%, two attempts allowed)
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding
- Ascension Nova StatStrip (pre-hire modules for non-allied positions)
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out (Cerner test results and training checklist with signed attestation)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted. If negative, two doses of MMR vaccine four weeks apart required.
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite; updated annually.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza Vaccine: Optional; flu season Oct 1, 2024 - Mar 31, 2025; declinations accepted with mask requirement.
- Positive PPD/Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire: Must provide positive IGRA or PPD results, chest X-ray within a year showing no infection, and completed TB questionnaire. Annual updates required.
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): 1st PPD within 1 year, 2nd within 30 days of start, or negative IGRA within 90 days prior to start. Annual TB questionnaire updates required.
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start, updated annually; includes testing for 12 specified drugs with MRO review.
Professional Requirements
- Driver's License/State ID: Must be current, match address on file, and comply with compact license rules if applicable.
- Ascension Profile: Resume or professional profile required.
- Ascension 2 Professional References: At least two professional references completed prior to first assignment.
- Ascension Criminal Background Check: Includes Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender check; completed within 30 days of first assignment and updated annually.
- Ascension EPLS: Must be run within 90 days of start and rerun if break in service > 90 days.
- Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually.
- Ascension Education Verification: Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days.
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updated with each extension.
Additional Notes
- Some optional requirements include Ascension Unit Specific Checklist and Ascension Badge Photo.
- Post-assignment evaluations and exit surveys may be required.
- Legal documentation of name change must be provided if applicable.
This position is ideal for experienced RN Cath Lab nurses who meet Ascension Health’s rigorous credentialing and health requirements and are comfortable working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
