Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW) / Every Other Holiday (EOH)

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

  • American Heart Association certification required for all direct patient care personnel.
  • Must provide scanned copy (front and back) with expiration date.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

  • Required for RNs in ED, CCU, PACU, MICU, SICU.
  • Must provide scanned copy (front and back) with expiration date.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

  • Required for RNs in Emergency Department.
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certificate also acceptable.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Valid Nursing License

  • License verification must be dated within 30 days of start.
  • Online verification with machine-generated date required.

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Fit Test
• Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen

  • 9 Panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (preferred within 14 days).
  • Must include Cocaine, Amphetamines, Opiates, 6-Monoacetylmorphine, Propoxyphene, PCP, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, Methaqualone, Methadone. (NO THC)
• COVID-19 Vaccine

  • Proof of September 2024 booster, declination, or exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)

  • Proof of 2 vaccinations with dates or IgG titer lab report.
• Hepatitis B

  • Must have started vaccination series prior to start (1st shot before start, 2nd shot 30 days later, 3rd shot 6 months later).
  • Hep B titers not accepted.
• Influenza Vaccine (Optional)

  • Proof of vaccine, declination, or exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
  • Valid for 10/1/2024 - 4/30/2025.
• 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot)

  • Positive TB requires chest x-ray within last year (for MI, IN, CT, MA) or within 5 years for other regions.
• Varicella

  • Proof of 1 vaccination with date or IgG titer lab report.
• Physical/Health Statement

  • Documentation from exam within last year confirming fitness to work.
• Tdap Vaccine

  • Current, non-expired vaccine required.
  • Declinations accepted if no pediatric interaction; agency form acceptable.

This position is for an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse with all required certifications and compliance documentation ready for onboarding at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa. The assignment is a 13-week long-term contract with a schedule of every other week and every other holiday coverage.
