Job Opportunity: RN Neuro/Trauma ICU - Travel Position
Location: Evansville, Indiana
Facility: INEVA St Vincent Evansville (Ascension Health)
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility & Unit Details
- Level II Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center
- Focus on Adult Trauma Population
- Post Surgical Management for General Surgery, Vascular Surgery (e.g., Carotid), and Neuro Surgery
- Patient Ratio: 1:1 to 1:3
- Unit Size: 8 beds
Required Credentials & Compliance
Professional Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (AHA required)
- ACLS (AHA required)
- Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- Driver’s License/State ID (must be valid and match address requirements)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Varicella immunity proof or two doses of vaccine (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes
- Health statement or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
Testing & Exams
- Fit Test for respiratory protection (preferred before start, can be done onsite)
- Ascension Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; minimum 80%, updated yearly)
- Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80%, updated as per latest edition)
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical competency, updated annually)
- Ascension Color Vision test (updated every 3 years)
- 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
Background & Verification
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others (updated annually or after break in service > 90 days)
- Employment verification for the past 7 years (updated annually or after break in service > 90 days)
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start
- At least two professional references prior to first assignment
- Confirmation of assignment documentation required
Additional Notes
- Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background required for Ascension badge
- All documentation must be current and compliant with Ascension Health standards
- Flu vaccine exemptions require mask wearing during flu season
- Some onboarding requirements and attestations must be completed prior to or at start of assignment
