Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (Travel)

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Facility: WIMIL CSM Milwaukee Hosp (Ascension Health)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements

• Must have a Wisconsin license prior to start date
• Current critical care experience required or experience within the last 12 months
• Ability to manage a heavy workload
• May need to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles if needed
• Certifications required:

  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • PALS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program, AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics)
• Additional required certifications and verifications:

  • Ascension Respiratory Therapy Contract Worker Onboarding Education Attestation
  • License/Certificate Verification (current and primary source verified within 30 days prior to start)
  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year, updated yearly)
  • Ascension Specialty Exam (completed prior to first assignment, updated every 3 years)
  • Ascension Badge Photo (professional headshot)
  • Health Statement (statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually)
  • Driver's License/State ID (valid, must match address requirements)
  • 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (TB testing) with required documentation
  • MMR vaccination proof or positive titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Fit Test (required for all travelers, preferred prior to start)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination documentation
  • Varicella vaccination proof or immunity verification (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap vaccination (valid for 10 years, no declinations accepted)
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
  • Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical competency, completed within one year of start, updated annually)
  • Ascension Criminal Background Check (including SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender check; completed within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
  • Ascension EPLS (within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service > 90 days)
  • Ascension Education Verification (within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service > 90 days)
  • Ascension Confirmation of Assignment (agency letterhead documentation of assignment dates)
  • Ascension Employment Verification (third-party verification for past 7 years, updated annually)

Additional Information

• Respiratory Therapy Contract Worker Form is completed onsite by the facility
• Flu vaccine is optional; exemptions accepted but mask wearing required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• May be required to float to other sites within 40 miles
• Must be able to handle End of Week (EOW) and End of Hour (EOH) shifts
