Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Requirements
- Must have a Wisconsin license prior to submission
- Current critical care experience required or experience within the last 12 months
- Ability to manage a heavy workload
- Experience with EPIC system
- May need to float onsite within skill set or to sites within 40 miles
Required Certifications & Credentials
- BLS (AHA)
- PALS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- NRP (AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Current Respiratory Therapist license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
- Ascension Respiratory Therapy Contract Worker Onboarding Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire training)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year, updated yearly)
- Ascension Specialty Exam (completed prior to first assignment, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical, completed within one year of start, updated annually)
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
- Ascension Education Verification (within 90 days of start)
- Ascension Criminal Background Check (7-year search, updated annually)
- Ascension EPLS check (within 90 days of start)
- Ascension Employment Verification (past 7 years, updated annually)
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment (agency letterhead with start/end dates)
- Driver’s License/State ID (must be valid and match address requirements)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite; specific mask types required
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Positive PPD/Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire (or Positive IGRA)
- 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) within required timeframes
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history; no declinations accepted
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
Additional Information
- Respiratory Therapy Contract Worker Form completed onsite by facility
- Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background required (no alterations)
- At least two professional references required prior to first assignment
This position requires a highly qualified respiratory therapist with critical care experience, appropriate licensure, and comprehensive compliance with health, safety, and credentialing standards.
