Travel RN Opportunity – Neuro/Trauma Specialty
Location: Portland, Maine
Unit: Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) – R6
Position Details
- Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Specialty: Neuro / Trauma
- Shift: Not specified
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Experience & Education
- Minimum Experience: 2 years
- Required Certifications: None specific, but Neuro IMC or ICU experience required
- Preferred Skills: Neuro/Neurosurgical experience
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 9
- Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 3 patients
- Patient Population: Neurosurgical patients including spinal fractures, craniotomies, aneurysm repairs, head bleeds, traumatic brain injuries, seizure disorders, multi-traumas
- Equipment Used: Telemetry, ICP monitoring, externalized ventricular drains, epidurals, PCAs, Pleuravacs/chest tubes, tracheostomies
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Epic
Work Environment & Culture
- Personality Fit: Proactive team player with a positive attitude; work-focused
- Dress Code: Any scrub color allowed; must maintain a professional appearance
