Job Description

• Work in a cardiac medical and surgical ICU unit
• Care for 2 ICU patients safely
• Manage cardiac devices including Impella and IABP (training and current experience preferred)
• Preferred experience with NxStage dialysis system

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Certifications and Licenses

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• Current RN license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment
• Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• Driver’s License or State ID (valid, must match address requirements)

Required Exams and Competencies

• Ascension Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
• Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
• Ascension Color Vision Test (updated every 3 years)
• Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; minimum 80%, updated yearly)
• NIH Certification (Group A yearly, Group B-F every 2 years)
• Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80%, updated as per latest edition)
• Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills, updated annually)

Onboarding and Professional Requirements

• Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
• Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
• Ascension Profile (resume or professional profile)
• At least two professional references prior to first assignment
• Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (completed within 30 days prior to assignment)
• Employment Verification for the past 7 years
• Education Verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days prior to start)
• Confirmation of Assignment documentation (provided by agency)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Fit Test: Required annually, preferred prior to start
• Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), exemptions accepted with mask requirement
• TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
• Varicella: Proof of immunity or two vaccine doses (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
• Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually

• Forward-facing professional headshot required (white or blue background, no filters)
• Some optional checklists may be required by unit leadership after onboarding
• All documentation must be current and compliant with Ascension Health standards
