Description

Job Opportunity: Clinical Staff/Ambulatory Pharmacist

Location: State College, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Contract
**Contract Length: 12 weeks

Position Summary

Provide comprehensive patient care through inpatient pharmacy functions such as order entry/verification, medication checking/dispensing, and other tasks ensuring safe and effective medication use.
May rotate into ambulatory roles including anticoagulation clinic services, oncology, or other areas as assigned.
Support patient care activities for diverse populations, from geriatrics to pediatrics.

Minimum Requirements

Education

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required
Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred

Experience

Recent hospital experience preferred
For ambulatory rotations: pharmacy residency experience and advanced practice certifications preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Knowledge of current state and federal pharmacy laws
Ability to interact positively with pharmacy staff, healthcare providers, nurses, and other health system employees

License/Certification/Registration

Current license issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy or eligibility for reciprocation within 90 days of hire
For anticoagulation clinic rotation: Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification meeting American Heart Association standards, with renewal every two years

Supervision

Receives minimal supervision from Pharmacy Manager and Supervisors
No supervisory responsibilities indicated
