Job Opportunity: Clinical Staff/Ambulatory Pharmacist
Location: State College, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Contract
**Contract Length: 12 weeks
Position Summary
- Provide comprehensive patient care through inpatient pharmacy functions such as order entry/verification, medication checking/dispensing, and other tasks ensuring safe and effective medication use.
- May rotate into ambulatory roles including anticoagulation clinic services, oncology, or other areas as assigned.
- Support patient care activities for diverse populations, from geriatrics to pediatrics.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred
Experience
- Recent hospital experience preferred
- For ambulatory rotations: pharmacy residency experience and advanced practice certifications preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge of current state and federal pharmacy laws
- Ability to interact positively with pharmacy staff, healthcare providers, nurses, and other health system employees
License/Certification/Registration
- Current license issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy or eligibility for reciprocation within 90 days of hire
- For anticoagulation clinic rotation: Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification meeting American Heart Association standards, with renewal every two years
Supervision
- Receives minimal supervision from Pharmacy Manager and Supervisors
- No supervisory responsibilities indicated
