Description
Job Opportunity: MRI Technician
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Shift: Thursday, Friday, Saturday | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Key Requirements and Credentials
Licenses & Certifications
- Current Professional License: Must have current license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
- BLS Certification: Must be American Heart Association (AHA) approved; required before onboarding.
- Driver’s License/State ID: Must be valid, not expired, and match address on file.
Health & Immunizations
- MMR: Documented proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer. No declinations accepted. If negative titer, two doses of MMR vaccine four weeks apart required.
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history. No declinations accepted. If negative, two doses of vaccine four weeks apart required.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31). Exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- TB Testing: 2-step PPD or IGRA within specified timeframes; if positive, chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required.
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred before start but can be completed onsite.
Onboarding & Compliance
- Ascension Core Competencies: Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; must be completed within one year and updated yearly with minimum 80% score.
- Ascension Medical Imaging Contract Worker Onboarding Education Attestation: 6-hour pre-hire education with signed attestation required before onboarding.
- Ascension Badge Photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations.
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start, updated annually; includes testing for 12 specified substances.
- Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually.
Professional Documentation
- Resume/Profile: Required for submission.
- Two Professional References: At least two qualifying references prior to first assignment.
- Criminal Background Check: Includes SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender check; must be current within 30 days of assignment start and updated annually or after breaks in service.
- Education Verification: Verification of relevant education within 90 days of start; must be rerun after breaks in service.
- Employment Verification: Third-party verification for past seven years; updated annually or after breaks in service.
- Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updated with extensions; must be on agency letterhead with accurate dates.
- EPLS Check: Must be run within 90 days of start and rerun after breaks in service.
Summary
This is a 13-week long-term MRI Technician assignment in Indianapolis, Indiana, with night shifts on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Candidates must meet comprehensive licensing, certification, health, and onboarding requirements specific to Ascension Health standards. Compliance with immunizations, drug screening, background checks, and professional verifications is mandatory prior to and during the assignment.
