Job Opportunity: RN Cath Lab (Travel)
Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Assist with procedures and provide diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients.
- Prepare and position patients; select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within scope of practice and regulations.
- Observe patients during procedures and report abnormal activity.
- Monitor protocols and recommend updates as needed.
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
- Perform specialized imaging procedures such as angiography, complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures.
- Assist Radiologist/PA during procedures.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agency standards.
Required Licensure / Certifications
- BLS Provider (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) within 30 days of hire or job transfer.
- Radiologic Technologist credential from the Texas Medical Board prior to hire or transfer.
- One or more of the following credentials prior to hire or transfer:
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CCI)
- Cardiographic Tech specializing in Electrophysiology (CCI)
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography (ARRT)
- ARRT-VI, ARRT-CI, or ARRT-CV also accepted.
- Advanced Life Support (preferred).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred).
Education Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalency with 2 years cumulative experience, OR
- Associate's degree/Technical degree, OR
- 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required).
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
- License and certificate verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Completion of specialty exams and competency assessments (e.g., Ascension Specialty Exam, Core Competencies, EKG Exam).
- Completion of onboarding education and attestation modules.
- Health and immunization requirements including:
- MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer, no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination documentation
- Influenza vaccine (seasonal, exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap vaccine (valid 10 years, no declinations accepted)
- TB screening (Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, annual TB questionnaire)
- Fit test for respiratory protection (updated annually)
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes
- Drug screening: 12 panel urine drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.
- Criminal background check, employment verification, and professional references required.
- Verification of education and employment history relevant to clinical work.
- Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID (must not be expired and address must match records).
Additional Notes
- Must comply with all regulatory and facility-specific standards.
- Completion of all required documentation and verifications prior to or at onboarding is mandatory.
- Contract length is approximately 13 weeks.
