Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Cobleskill, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• Work Days: 3 days per week at Little Falls Hospital, 2 days per week at Cobleskill Regional Hospital (travel between sites mid-day is rare)
• Shift: 3x8 hour shifts
• On-Call: None

Setting & Caseload

• Work primarily in Critical Access Hospitals offering outpatient, acute, and subacute swing bed rehabilitation services
• Caseload of 7–8 patients per day, mostly outpatient with some inpatient
• Patient age range: from at least 3 years old through advanced age
• Typical diagnoses include:

  • Swallowing disorders (acute and chronic)
  • Speech and language impairments
  • Neurological conditions (e.g., strokes, Parkinsonism)
  • Developmental delays
  • Dysphagia, fluency issues, diet selection/recommendations
• Must be fully capable of independently performing evaluations and treatments in these areas
• Experience with FEES, trach/vent, and MBSS is not required

Requirements & Preferences

• Must hold CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
• Experience working independently
• Skilled in swallow evaluations and treatment, outpatient swallow and language evaluation and treatment

• Submission requirements include a submittal profile with resume, skills checklist, license verification, BLS, and any additional certifications required

This position offers a stable schedule with no on-call duties, serving a diverse patient population in a critical access hospital setting. It is ideal for an experienced SLP comfortable with independent practice and skilled in swallowing and language disorders.
