Echo Technician - Newton, Massachusetts (LTA Contract)

Position Overview

• Perform quality and complete echocardiogram studies independently and as part of a team.
• Maintain integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Demonstrate technical skills and judgment to function unsupervised.
• Excellent verbal, written communication, interpersonal, customer service, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines consistently.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited non-invasive cardiovascular training program focused on echocardiography.
• Completion of a recognized course in arrhythmia detection.
• Minimum 2 years current experience as a registered echocardiography technician.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) required.
• CPR certification (AHA or ARC accepted).

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Certifications and Compliance

• BLS certification (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military accepted; AHA preferred).
• Professional license/certification verification with primary source verification (MA Conditional Licenses not accepted).
• Fit Test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually.
• Documentation of MMR immunity or vaccination.
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions.
• TB test documentation within 3 months of start date, updated if break >6 months.
• Physician health statement within 365 days of start date, updated if break >6 months.
• Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, updated if break >6 months.
• Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date, updated if break >6 months.
• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation (if fit test required).
• Education verification of highest level achieved.
• Social Security Number trace with criminal check.
• National sex offender registry check within 30 days of start, updated annually.
• Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days of start, updated annually.

Required Documentation for Submission

• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
• Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above in skillset).
• Skills checklist.
• Candidate submission coversheet.

Additional Notes

• Some vaccines and tests are strongly preferred or optional but recommended (e.g., Hepatitis B, Tdap).
• No religious or medical exemptions allowed for influenza vaccine.
• Fit testing cannot be done onsite; must be completed prior to start.
• All required documents must be uploaded and verified before onboarding.
