Job Opportunity: RN Ortho
Location: Murfreesboro, Tennessee
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Start Date: December 8 (Non-negotiable)
Shift Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Key Requirements and Credentials
Licenses & Certifications
- Current Nursing License: Must have primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Nursys Verification: Required within 30 days prior to start.
- BLS Certification: Must be American Heart Association (AHA) certified.
- Driver's License/State ID: Must be current, unexpired, and match address on file.
Health & Immunizations
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer required. No declinations accepted.
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or verified history required. No declinations accepted.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination required.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31). Declinations accepted but mask required at all times.
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred before start but can be completed onsite. Annual update required.
- Positive PPD: Requires negative chest X-ray within one year and annual TB questionnaire.
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA: Required with specific timing before start; annual TB questionnaire updates required.
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
Testing & Competencies
- Ascension Core Competencies: Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics. Must be completed within one year and updated yearly. Minimum 80% score with only two attempts allowed.
- Ascension EKG Exam: Must pass with at least 80%, two attempts allowed. Latest edition required.
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out: Cerner test results and training checklist with signed attestation required.
- Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist to be completed within one year and updated annually.
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start and updated annually. Retesting required if break in service > 90 days.
Professional Requirements
- Resume/Profile: Required for submission.
- Two Professional References: Must be completed prior to first assignment.
- Criminal Background Check: Includes Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others. Must be completed within 30 days of assignment and updated annually or after breaks in service > 90 days.
- Employment Verification: For past seven years, updated annually or after breaks in service > 90 days.
- Education Verification: Relevant to clinical work, completed within 90 days of start, and updated if break in service > 90 days.
- Ascension EPLS (Excluded Parties List System): Run within 90 days of start and rerun if break in service > 90 days.
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updated with each extension.
Onboarding & Orientation
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding: Completed onsite.
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation: Completion of 6 hours pre-hire training with attestation required.
- Ascension Nova StatStrip: Pre-hire modules required for non-allied positions.
- Ascension Badge Photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations.
Additional Notes
- Flu season mask policy applies if influenza vaccine is declined.
- Some optional documents and surveys may be requested but are not mandatory for onboarding.
- All credential verifications and health documentation must be current and compliant with Ascension Health policies.
