Description

Job Opportunity: RN Ortho

Location: Murfreesboro, Tennessee
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: January 5 (Non-negotiable)
Shift: 36 or 48 hours per week


Key Requirements and Credentials

Licenses & Certifications

  • Current Nursing License: Must have primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
  • Nursys Verification: Required within 30 days prior to start.
  • BLS Certification: Must be American Heart Association (AHA) certified.
  • Driver's License/State ID: Must be current and match address on file.

Health & Immunizations

  • MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer required; no declinations accepted.
  • Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted.
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
  • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); declinations accepted with mask requirement.
  • Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred before start but can be completed onsite.
  • Positive PPD: Negative chest X-ray within one year and annual TB questionnaire required.
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA: Required within specified timeframes prior to start; annual updates required.
  • Health Statement: Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
  • 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start and updated annually; retesting required if break in service > 90 days.

Onboarding & Training

  • Ascension Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, max 2 attempts.
  • Ascension EKG Exam: Passing score of at least 80%, max 2 attempts; must be updated to latest version prior to clearance.
  • Ascension Onboarding Education Attestation: Completion of 6-hour pre-hire training with attestation upload.
  • Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding: Completed onsite.
  • Ascension Nova StatStrip: Pre-hire modules required for non-allied positions.
  • Ascension Cerner Test-Out: Cerner test results and training checklist with signed attestation required.
  • Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually.

Professional Requirements

  • Resume/Profile: Required for submission.
  • Two Professional References: Required prior to first assignment.
  • Criminal Background Check: Includes SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender check; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days.
  • EPLS Check: Must be run within 90 days of start and rerun if break in service > 90 days.
  • Education Verification: Must be completed within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days.
  • Employment Verification: Past seven years required; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days.
  • Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updates with extensions.

Additional Notes

  • Flu season mask requirement applies if influenza vaccine is declined.
  • Some optional documents and surveys may be requested post-assignment or during onboarding.
  • Badge photo required: forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations.
