Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Telemetry
Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in MS/Telemetry
- Ratios: 1:5-6 patient ratio
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call Requirement: No
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs and float between like units
- Block Scheduling: Open to accommodating
- Locals: Not accepted (50-mile radius rule from main campus)
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Return to Work Restrictions: Per manager's discretion
- Guaranteed Hours: Call-off policy allows 2 shifts off per 13-week assignment; after that, all contracted shifts are guaranteed
- Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
- Contract Limit: Maximum of 2 contracts (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning

Certifications & Competencies Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required (AHA or Military)
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required (AHA or Military)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for certain units (ED, OR, Peds ED, PICU)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for L&D, FCCU, NICU units
- NIH Stroke Certification: Required for ED, Psych ED, ICUs, Step Down, Med Surg, L&D, Express Care; must be updated annually
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Required for awareness on multiple units; candidates have 3 attempts to pass with remediation required after failures
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required and must be renewed annually; advanced and basic levels depending on unit assignment
Background & Health Requirements
- Background Check: Must be within 6 months of start; includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, and international search if applicable
- Education Verification: Required; diploma or transcript acceptable if verification unavailable
- Physical Exam: Required within 1 year, updated annually
- Immunizations & Titers:
- TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within last 10 years (no declinations accepted after 2/22/2021)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted after 2/22/2021)
- Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted after 2/22/2021)
- Hepatitis B: Vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted
- TB Screening: Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; annual renewal required
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (specific substances listed)
- Flu Vaccine: Required year-round; medical or religious exemptions accepted with facility-specific forms; documentation required for 2025-26 season
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required but documentation accepted
