Job Opportunity: Echo Technician (Travel)

Location: Manhattan, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work with GE and Philips Epiq ultrasound equipment.

Required Certifications & Credentials

  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Must be AHA certified.
  • Current License: Must have current license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
  • Ascension Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics completed within a year of start, updated yearly, minimum 80% score (max 2 attempts).
  • Ascension Medical Imaging Contract Worker Onboarding Education Attestation: 6 hours pre-hire education with signed attestation.
  • Ascension Badge Photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations.

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • MMR: Documented proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted. If negative titer, two doses of MMR vaccine four weeks apart required.
  • Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite. Annual update required.
  • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
  • Positive PPD/Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire: Must provide positive IGRA or PPD results, chest x-ray within one year showing no infection, and completed TB questionnaire. Annual updates required.
  • Health Statement: Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
  • 2 Step PPD OR IGRA: First PPD within 1 year, second within 30 days of start, or negative IGRA within 90 days prior to start. Annual TB questionnaire updates required.
  • Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history; no declinations accepted.
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start, updated annually. Includes testing for 12 specified drugs with MRO review if applicable.

Professional Requirements

  • Driver's License/State ID: Must be valid, not expired, and match address on file. For out-of-state placements with compact licenses, address must match home state.
  • Ascension Profile: Resume or professional profile required.
  • Professional References: At least two qualifying references completed prior to first assignment.
  • Criminal Background Check: Includes Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other checks within 30 days of assignment start; updated annually or after breaks in service >90 days.
  • EPLS (Excluded Parties List System): Run within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service >90 days.
  • Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start; updated annually.
  • Education Verification: Verification of relevant education within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service >90 days. Official transcripts required if verification fails.
  • Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updated with extensions; must be on agency letterhead with accurate dates.
  • Employment Verification: Third-party verification for past seven years; updated annually or after breaks in service >90 days.

  • Post-assignment evaluation may be required.
  • Legal documentation of name change if applicable.
