Job Description

• Provide nursing care during antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of obstetrical care in Labor and Delivery.
• Utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to ensure safe delivery of care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.
• Flexible to float to other units as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 prior travel assignments in Labor & Delivery, postpartum, nursery, or Mother/Baby units.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP.
• AWHONN certification preferred (can be completed onsite).
• AHCA license required for Florida placements.
• Must secure housing within 50 miles of the facility prior to assignment acceptance.

Additional Notes

• The position involves night shifts.
• Flexibility to float to other units based on facility needs.
