Certification Requirements
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - As applicable
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - As applicable
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - As applicable
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy) - As applicable
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - As applicable
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - As applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification - As applicable (expires annually)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - As applicable
Required Verifications and Background Checks
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check upon hire
- HHS/OIG check upon hire
- Education verification (highest level of education)
- Transcript/Diploma may be accepted as placeholder if education verification is delayed
- Fingerprinting (time sensitive, for New Mexico placements only)
- State License verification (primary source online)
- NURSYS verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
- Tech Cert Verification (for allied professionals as applicable)
Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
- Color Blind Testing (online version accepted)
- Competency Exam (minimum passing score 80% or Angoff score)
- Core Parts I, II, III (for subcontractors, annual completion required)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA required)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam within 12 months of start
- Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start, must be renewed annually
- Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test (2-Step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year
- TB Questionnaire within 90 days of start for positive TB results, renewed annually
- Measles (Rubeola) - Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Mumps - Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Rubella - Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B - Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella - Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required
- Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 Vaccine (Dose 1 and Fully Vaccinated) or approved medical/religious exemption required
