Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Job - New Brunswick, NJ

Licensure & Certification Requirements

  • Must have New Jersey Radiologic Technologist License (pending license acceptable)
  • ARRT Mammography certification required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only; required for CCU and possibly other units
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only; required for all units except MTs/MLTs
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only; required for Pediatrics, Pediatric ER, ED, Pediatric Oncology, PICU, and RRT-NICU
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - Required for NICU, RRT-NICU, Nursery, Labor & Delivery, Post Partum/Mother-baby (AHA/AAP certification)
  • NALS (Neonatal Advanced Life Support) - Unit-specific requirements
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - Required for Labor and Delivery (AWOHNN Intermediate, advanced, or C-EFM)
  • IV Certification (Adult IV Therapy Course: Theory) - Required if previously worked in NJ hospitals; must be 100% complete before assignment
  • NIH Stroke Certification - Required for AICU and ED specialties
  • State License - Hard copy and primary source verification required as applicable
  • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) - Required as applicable

Patient Mix / Skill Requirements

  • Stereotactic Breast Biopsy
  • DEXA Scans

Equipment & Systems

  • HOLOGIC Mammography and DEXA Scan equipment
  • Syngo Radiology Information System for charting

Orientation & Testing

  • Return to Office (RTO) required within 5-7 days max upon submission
  • Mandatory hospital orientation with 8-12 hours of McKesson training
  • Pass/Fail Medication and EKG/Dysrhythmia competency exams required for RNs (two attempts allowed)
  • IV Therapy/Infusion and IV Push Medication competency exams required for RNs, APNs, and CT techs (two attempts allowed)
  • Cornerstone modules (~8 hours) must be completed prior to assignment clearance
  • Facility-specific orientation self-study packet must be reviewed and signed before start

Background Checks & Compliance

  • Criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, including aliases and jurisdictions
  • SAM, OIG, and EPLS/GSA searches required within 30 days of start
  • Photo for badge required (shoulders up, plain background)
  • Compliance checklist and COVID-19 booster attestation may be required

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam or fit-to-work statement (no annual update required)
  • Tdap vaccine required
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or Tspot) within 3 months of start; follow-up chest x-ray if positive
  • TB questionnaire if applicable
  • MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer; can start with 2nd booster pending
  • Hepatitis B - Titer, series, or declination
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer; can start with 2nd booster pending
  • Hepatitis C - Negative or non-reactive titer required
  • Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required by deadline; medical and religious exemptions accepted with annual renewal
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within one year of start; on-site drug screen at assignment start (marijuana not required)

Employment History & References

  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required (must be shown on application)
  • Work history verification required for all candidates, including APN/SUB, with minimum 1 year prior to start date verified (30-day gaps allowed)
  • Three references required, including at least one supervisor-level reference

This position is suitable for radiologic technologists with mammography experience who hold or are eligible for a New Jersey license and meet the certification and compliance requirements listed above. The role offers a standard weekday shift with no weekend or floating requirements.
