Job Opportunity: MRI Technologist (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift:
- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
- 4 x 10-hour shifts, 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM
- Also Monday through Thursday shifts available
Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 1 year required
- Equipment Experience: Must have experience with GE GEMS MRI systems
- Certifications Required:
- ARMRIT
- ARRT MR
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Scrub Color: Hunter Green
- Travelers: First-time travelers accepted
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
Background Checks & Verifications
- 7-year background check within 12 months of start date
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and every 30 days thereafter
- Fingerprinting required if applicable (especially for candidates who have lived/worked in WV in the past 7 years)
- Education verification required (highest level of education)
- OFAC Sanctions List Search required for all new/pre candidates
- State license primary source verification required, must be valid and not expiring within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification for nursing licenses required within 30 days of start
Certifications & Training
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, STABLE, ENPC, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification, and other certifications as applicable depending on unit and role
- Certifications must be current and cannot expire within 30 days of start
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA, OSHA/TJC training) required and expires annually
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for certain roles
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required annually for medication-dispensing positions
- Core Competency Training (Parts I, II, III) required annually with minimum passing scores
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Respirator Fit Test completed onsite during orientation (N95 masks commonly used)
- Immunizations and/or titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years for high-risk areas)
- Negative TB test (True 2-step PPD, QF Gold, or Tspot within 90 days of start)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Drug screening within 1 year of start, updated annually (5-panel minimum)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required by deadlines (not required for remote workers)
- COVID-19 vaccination no longer required
Facility Specific Requirements
- Badge photo required (passport style, specific background and quality requirements)
- Online orientation modules must be completed within 72 hours of assignment
- Pre-assignment testing (medication and EKG) must be completed within 72 hours of receiving login info; two attempts allowed
- Floating policy acknowledgment required (clinical candidates)
- Contractor acknowledgment must be signed within 24 hours of contract signing
Additional Notes
- Prisma Health facilities are latex-free; latex allergies are acceptable
- Candidates must carry a valid driver's license for computer access and while on duty
- Background checks and certifications must be kept current throughout the assignment
- Some certifications and trainings may have associated costs that the candidate is responsible for
- Candidates should have stable internet and computer access for online testing and modules
