Registered Nurse (Telemetry) - Travel/Contract

Location: Latrobe, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Telemetry RN position
• 12-hour shifts
• Rotating shifts including weekends and holidays

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (front and back of card required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support), preferably from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), preferably from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (front and back of card required)
• NIH Stroke Certification (must be updated annually)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification required for ER & Behavioral Health units

Licenses and Verifications

• State License primary source online verification
• National Tech Certification as applicable (for allied professionals)

Background Checks and Compliance

• Background check within 30 days of start, including SS Trace, County searches (7 years), Nationwide, Sex Offender, and PA Statewide Patch Certificate
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
• Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprinting required (detailed process and follow-up required)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON Gold, or Tspot) within 1 year; if past positive, negative chest x-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire
• Annual TB questionnaire for past positive TB
• Immunizations or positive titers within 10 years for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
• Hepatitis B vaccine series, positive titer within 10 years, or signed declination
• Negative 15-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 1); declinations accepted

Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Competency Exam (minimum 80% or meet/exceed Angoff score)

  • Mobility Training
  • Catheter Training
• Religious and Medical COVID exemptions require formal documentation

Documentation to Provide Before Start

• Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Emergency Contact Form
• Two professional references (for travel, allied, per diem acute care) within 3 years of start
• Skills checklist (required annually)

This position requires thorough compliance with background checks, certifications, health screenings, and facility-specific training to ensure readiness for the Telemetry RN role on a travel contract basis.
