Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Dallas, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- May require on-call shifts, weekends, holidays, and floating within the facility or system
- Local rate available within 90 miles
Required Documentation
- I9 or Attestation
- Valid government-issued Photo ID (Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport) matching all documentation
- E-Verify or Attestation
- Background checks within 30 days of start, including:
- 7-year County Criminal Background Search for all locations lived/worked
- Sex Offender Search
- State Police Investigation for Behavioral Health
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check
- HHS/OIG check
- 2 professional references within 3 years of hire
Certifications (May vary by unit; verify with job description)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for MS/Tele, ER, L&D, GI, Critical Care ICU/IMC, OR, PACU, PCU, IR & Cath Lab
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required except for Student Practical Training (SPTs)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for ER, PACU, GI Lab
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for L&D and NICU
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course): Required for ER; ATCN acceptable in lieu of TNCC for ER; TCAR or TNCC required for Adult Critical Care (ICU) units (except Southlake)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Required for L&D
- ENPC: Acceptable in lieu of PALS for ER
- NIH Stroke Certification: Required for ER, Critical Care, Med Surg, IR, IMC, PCU (valid for 2 years; may be obtained within 30 days of hire onsite)
- T-CAR (Trauma Care After Resuscitation): Required for Adult Critical Care (ICU) units (except Southlake)
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing: Required for all RNs and Cath Lab Techs (medication and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams)
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Must pass with 80% or higher; 2 attempts allowed; completed within 30 days of start
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for Cath Lab Techs and specific nursing units; 2 attempts allowed; completed within 30 days of start; updated annually
- General Competency Exams: Required as applicable by profession/unit; must meet or exceed Angoff score or 80%
Health Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit test (mask fitting) completed onsite during orientation; updated annually
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination required for all travelers
- Negative TB test (TSpot or QGold) within 12 months; annual updates required
- TB questionnaire annually after positive TB result
- Immunity or vaccination documentation required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B: Proof of vaccine series and positive titer OR signed facility-specific declination form
- Drug testing: 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (rapid screens not accepted)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 vaccine preferred but not required
Facility Specific Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport style, head and shoulders, clear background)
- Completion of facility-specific forms including:
- Hepatitis B Declination (if applicable)
- Flu Medical or Religious Exemption (if applicable)
- NESF Form prior to start
- Signed Job Description prior to start
- Medical or Religious Exemption for all mandatory vaccinations (if applicable)
