Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Bend, Oregon

Job Description

  • Patient census: 10
  • Required experience: Minimum 1 year
  • Charting system: Epic preferred
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS
  • Special Procedures:
    • Perform diagnostic and interventional hemodynamic monitoring
    • Neuro-intervention, vascular, and structured heart exams
    • Hemodynamic monitoring on Cath lab specific equipment
    • Conscious sedation on adults following facility policies
    • Assist in recovery of Cath Lab patients in SSU or PACU
  • Common Equipment: Philips imaging systems, Abbott Claris
  • On-call requirement: Yes — 1-2 weeknights and 1 weekend every 4 weeks
  • Floating: No (clinician will not float outside scope)
  • Locals accepted: No (75 mile radius rule)
  • Pending license accepted: Yes (temporary license application possible)
  • Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: 7 days

Requirements & Compliance

Background Checks

  • 7-year criminal background check (updated annually) including:
    • SSN trace
    • Counties lived/worked/school
    • FACIS L3
    • DOJ sex offender search
    • Nationwide check
    • Education verification (highest level)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 90 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 90 days of start
  • Transcript/Diploma on file

Certifications

  • ACLS (AHA provider, instructor, or RQI acceptable)
  • BLS (AHA provider, instructor, or RQI acceptable)
  • PALS and NRP as required per unit description
  • State license primary source verification
  • NURSYS verification for RN

Competencies

  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Competency exam as applicable by specialty

Facility Specific Documents (Time Sensitive)

  • Passport-style photo for badge (within 48 hours of signing, no later than 2 Wednesdays prior to start)
  • Confidentiality agreement, contractual and third-party access agreements, compliance and privacy program attestation, emergency contact form (all must be signed and on file within 48 hours of signing and no later than 2 Wednesdays prior to start)

Health Documents

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (or declination accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer required, vaccine series alone not accepted)
    • Varicella
  • Negative 12-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination preferred but not required; vaccination record or declination/exemption required
  • Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year of start and annually

This position is ideal for RNs with cath lab experience who meet the certification and health requirements and are comfortable with on-call duties and specialized cardiovascular procedures.
